Kimberly Benigno, O.D. Optometrist
Kimberly Benigno, O.D., specializes in comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings, including hard-to-fit cases, such as patients with keratoconus and astigmatism.
The optometrist, who joined Eye Associates of the South in 1997, is a veteran contact lens expert and fits patients with the latest technology most suitable for their eyes’ needs, including multifocal contacts. She also helps a wide variety of patients who wear eyeglasses or have other vision needs. Dr. Benigno also treats many eye diseases.
Dr. Bengino received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Houston in Texas.
Dr. Benigno completed her optometry residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Ala. In 1996, she received the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Practice Award, the Excellence in Pediatrics Award and participated in the Alcon Laboratories NOVA program.
She currently is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
She has been part of the lead team for Eye Associates of the South that has won numerous local and regional honors from patients and the public for excellence in eye care.
Dr. Benigno is active in several local organizations including St. Paul’s Carnival Association, where she served as Vice President for 3 years. She reigned as Queen Christina for St. Paul Carnival Association in 2009. She also serves on St. Paul seafood festival committee. Due to fund raising efforts in 2009, Dr. Benigno was awarded the Knights Of Colombus certificate of merit.
Dr. Benigno resides in Pass Christian with her husband and son, where they are active members of Holy Family Parish in Pass Christian.
